Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale, aka Arike American professional basketball athlete who plays for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She played college basketball for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, before being drafted by the Wings as the 5th first overall pick in the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale was born March 2nd, 1997 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale was her 26-year-old brother, and Dare Ogunbowale, 20 years old. Ogunbowale participated for her first 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship where she won gold medals. In July 2014 Ogunbowale was chosen as a player on the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale is also selected for the ACC All-Freshman Team after her first collegiate season. Kobe Bryant even thanked her for the shots she hit during the NCCA Tournament. Ogunbowale, despite being an absolute newcomer to the sport of basketball has made herself a star.
