Their father is Argentine from Scottish as well as English descendance. Her mother is Spanish-English. The four siblings of Taylor-Joy are from her father's former marriage. They lived throughout Buenos Aires up until Taylor-Joy was six years old. She after which they moved to the Victoria district in London. Taylor-Joy says that moving to London was traumatizing and she did not learn English so that she could avoid returning to Argentina. Hill House was the new school she needed to go to when she switched from Northlands. After that, she was enrolled at Queen's Gate School where she trained in ballet and appeared in school productions. At 16, she quit school in order to concentrate on acting full time. Taylor-Joy began her career as an actor in the child years who was certain she would be an actor. Her dreams were realized when Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Management offered her a job as a model.
